The 3m medical adhesive we use for Sunrise Strips is acrylic based. It has been tested by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) through a biological evaluation which predicts skin irritant potential. The adhesive was found to be NON-SENSITIZING.
It is routinely used in surgical settings and well tolerated by most patients. In hospitals this adhesive is used in numerous ways but most commonly to keep IV or monitoring devices on the skin.
It does not contain resin, which is often found in a drugstore bandage. People with a resin/colophony allergy (intolerance to resins from pines, cedars, spruce, firs and junipers) normally tolerate our adhesive sun protection extremely well.
It does not contain latex. It does not contain silicone like a sun patch.
Sunrise Strips are made with the safest, least sensitizing adhesive that actually STAYS ON THE SKIN UNDER WATER! In order for them to stay on the adhesive has to be strong. Like any other bandage there can be some discomfort and/or redness when removing from the skin. This is normal and usually subsides very quickly. There can also be some residue from the adhesive which comes off easily with a cloth and warm water, mineral oil, petroleum jelly, lotion, or alcohol.
